Picts
Pictish carving on stone at Abernethy, Fife

These trips are particularly suited to groups of 1- 4.

Prices available upon request

The main trail will embrace many sites of the Culdees (early Christian movement in Scotland), including the old cathedral towns of St Andrews and Dunkeld, which were ancient local capitals for the southern Picts. You can see good examples of Pictish and Anglian carved stones on both the Firths of Forth and Tay and in Angus, as well as visit the Round Tower at Abernethy, site of the Culdees and the Southern Picts' Headquarters in early Christian times.

We stay at Drumnacree House, a pleasant country hotel at Alyth - close to Glamis Castle -home of the Queen Mother deceased. We can visit the castle and grounds if desired.
