Ancient Chapels Half Day Tour
Aerial view of ruins at Temple, Midlothian

“We want to thank you for showing us such beautiful sites outside Edinburgh . We looked at our digital pictures on the plane ride home and loved them. The pictures of Rosslyn were especially lovely. The cemeteries were serene and gave you a feeling of calmness.  I will certainly keep your website for when we return. We will hold onto many fond memories for a long time”.

11am-2.30pm (which allows for a unique private tour of Rosslyn)

This half day  is set in beautiful unspoilt countryside, and offers an overview of a local "principality" of spiritual and historical importance, unrivalled in Scotland since. The trail through  Midlothian centres on Rosslyn Chapel and other lesser known architectural sites that were significant in their connection to Rosslyn in in its heyday. It tells of the rich historic context that Rosslyn was placed in as well as the connections of leys in the areas for those interested in more esoteric aspects.

Borthwick Church is a fine example of the type of architecture and carvings deployed by Scottish masons at the time of building Rosslyn. The Borthwicks and the Sinclairs of Rosslyn held churches are connected both historically and energetically through ley lines, as explained in Jackies's books.

We also visit the ancient headquarters of the Knights Templar at Temple where a ruined chapel now stands in a serene setting.  Rosslyn Chapel where the tour culminates is undoubtedly the best example of an ornate medieval chapel carved in stone in Europe.

Further local sites can be explored in the full day version of this tour.
